The firm leverages decades of experience in the retail sector, encompassing roles as entrepreneurs, owners, operators, and investors. The firm provides both equity and debt financing for growth, buyouts, and turnarounds, utilising its own capital and that of selected investment partners.

Job Overview

In light of their recent growth, and headline investments in the news, the business seeks a dedicated and seasoned Investment Director to join their team. Collaborating closely with the COO to play a pivotal role in managing client relationships and executing transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in executing deals, from origination to exit.
  • Create and review Investment Memoranda (IMs) and Financial Models.
  • Contribute to transaction process planning and deal structuring discussions.
  • Supervise analysts/associates to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Serve as a primary client contact for daily queries, adeptly handling internal and external discussions on deal matters.
  • Negotiate commercial and legal terms with lenders and clients.
  • Train and develop analysts/associates.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients, potential clients, and lending partners.
  • Stay current on relevant industry trends.

Competencies

Preference for candidates with expertise in analysing, executing, and managing financing transactions, showcasing experience in the following:

  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis.
  • Mastery of financial modelling.
  • Competence in evaluating lending and/or investment transactions and structures.
  • Ability to produce high-quality marketing, investment, and/or credit documents, summarizing information from diverse sources concisely.
  • Confidence and credibility in client and lender interactions.
  • Strong enthusiasm for working with high-growth, technology-driven businesses within a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative spirit and aptitude for teamwork.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a finance or related discipline.
  • MBA/Advanced degree/CFA/CA highly advantageous but not mandatory.
  • 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience in financial restructuring or equity advisory, private equity or venture capital investment, front-office banking, research and analysis roles in commercial, corporate, and institutional banking, investment banking/M&A, leveraged and acquisition finance, back-office corporate finance execution teams, or corporate development/in-house M&A roles.
