About the Role
Our client is a leading global advisory firm specialising in complex financial, restructuring and recovery matters. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Manager to join their Contentious Insolvency team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an insolvency professional looking to develop their experience across contentious insolvency, investigations and asset recovery. You will work on a varied portfolio of complex assignments, taking responsibility for individual workstreams and supporting the delivery of high-quality outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the management and delivery of contentious insolvency and asset recovery assignments.
- Take ownership of individual workstreams and ensure work is delivered effectively and within agreed timescales.
- Review books, records and financial information to identify potential claims, antecedent transactions and recovery opportunities.
- Analyse complex financial information and contribute to investigations into potential misfeasance, breaches of duty and other claims.
- Assist with asset tracing and recovery exercises.
- Prepare reports, witness statements, correspondence and other documentation in support of ongoing cases.
- Work closely with legal advisers, creditors, clients and other stakeholders to develop and implement case and recovery strategies.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members, helping to develop their technical and professional capabilities.
- Contribute to business development activity, including preparing proposals and pitches and supporting client meetings.
About You
We are looking for a motivated insolvency professional with relevant experience in contentious insolvency and a strong interest in investigations and asset recovery.
You will ideally have:
- At least one year of relevant contentious insolvency experience.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Law or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
- A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPI or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with confidence interpreting complex financial information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, legal advisers and other stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of workstreams.
