Corporate Simplification (MVL) Assistant Manager

  • Salary: £46,000 - £57,000 pa

About the Role:

As a Corporate Restructuring Assistant Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to work within an experienced yet growing team. Your primary responsibilities will include proactively managing a substantial portfolio of cases from start to finish, handling distinct elements of larger projects, and providing guidance to junior team members. Furthermore, you will have the chance to continue developing your technical and accountancy knowledge through on-the-job experiences and various training opportunities.

You will also be involved in business development activities and contribute to sector and firm-wide initiatives, ensuring that you play a vital role in the growth and success of the team.

Key Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal and financial skills
  • Previous Insolvency exposure with MVLs or large corporate simplification projects
  • Ability to identify and understand key issues in solvent restructuring scenarios
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in producing high-quality written correspondence, including risk papers, tenders, and reports
  • Quick rapport-building skills with clients, their advisers, and the national and international network of colleagues
  • An enthusiastic, proactive, and team-oriented approach to your work

Responsibilities:

As a Corporate Restructuring Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a large portfolio of cases on a day-to-day basis
  • Supporting senior team members in delivering distinct elements of larger projects
  • Identifying and pursuing targets and opportunities
  • Assisting in the preparation of tenders and risk applications for new work
  • Attending meetings and client premises as necessary
  • Overseeing the work of junior team members and taking control of tasks when needed
  • Ensuring all cases are progressed and closed in a timely manner
  • Meeting statutory deadlines and keeping progress notes up to date in the systems
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of statutory and compliance processes and deadlines
  • Efficiently handling correspondence
  • Conducting financial analysis of statutory accounts and management information
  • Identifying potential obstacles and suggesting solutions to senior staff
  • Contributing to business development and commercial management initiatives
  • Building and maintaining key relationships with clients, professional advisers, and colleagues across service lines
  • Marketing the firm's services to potential clients and work providers
  • Participating in marketing events and seminars/presentations by other professionals
  • Performing other relevant duties and responsibilities as delegated
