Our client, an innovative and market-leading provider of asset-based lending (ABL) and cash flow finance, is seeking a skilled Credit Director to join their expanding team. Backed by private investment funds, the company partners with UK and international businesses, offering facilities ranging from £20 million to £100 million.
Founded in late 2019, the business was established by a group of experienced ABL professionals with a history of successfully building similar ventures. The company has grown to 34 employees and deployed over £600 million. Now entering a dynamic growth phase, the company is scaling its platform to capitalize on significant sector opportunities.
Position Overview
The Credit Director will be a key contributor to the credit underwriting process, evaluating new business opportunities, and supporting the deal teams. This role demands a proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of performing thorough financial analysis, developing and evaluating financial models, and managing multiple internal and external stakeholders throughout the credit evaluation process.
Our client is looking for someone from a Transaction Services or Financial Restructuring background.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Proposals: Work closely with deal teams to advance credit proposals through the underwriting process, ensuring adherence to the company's credit policies and objectives.
- Due Diligence: Attend meetings with potential clients to conduct thorough due diligence and oversee third-party providers to ensure high-quality assessments.
- Financial Analysis: Review client financial models to validate the accuracy and consistency of Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet data, identify key drivers and potential risks, and simulate appropriate sensitivities.
- Credit Assessment: Assist in constructing and financial modelling. Prepare concise credit papers for submission to the Credit Committee and present findings. The most successful candidate will be strong in this area.
- Documentation: Ensure meticulous documentation of all financial analysis, due diligence activities, and decision-making processes.
- Networking and Development: Build a strong network of industry contacts and participate in relevant training and development programs.

Technical Skills:
- Solid quantitative background with expertise in financial analysis/ modelling and accounting principles; ACA or CFA qualifications are highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Background in either Transaction services or Financial Advisory/restructuring
- Strong writing skills for producing focused credit papers.
- Knowledge of Asset-Based Lending (ABL) or leveraged loan products, with the ability to apply this to credit assessments.
